Welcome Message

We are very proud of our school and all of the opportunities that we give our pupils. We value all individuals, pupils and adults, and seek to ensure that everyone reaches their full potential, leaving them ready for the next stage in their learning journey.

We are an open and welcoming school and aim to build excellent relationships with our parents and local community, this is very important to us.

This week in TB - WC 08/12/25

We've had a wonderful week in TB, basking in unseasonably mild weather - no cold toes here!

Lower School have started with a challenge where they had to link descriptions of birds to pictures of birds - 12 in total...would you know your blue-tit from your greenfinch?  This activity linked to work the children had been doing on expanded noun phrases back in the classroom.

Following this, we had four new challenges: Ludus board grid marking and pawn painting (use of rulers here to measure in 3cm intervals and draw streight lines); Roman mace making (use of bow saw, loppers, sheath knives and mallets here); human skeleton creation (maths links to ratio, proportion and measuring here, in addition to use of loppers and secateurs); giant bird collaging (big art link - they made a green wood pecker).

Upper School have undertaken the Bielski mega-challenge - a team assault course where children had to collaborate and problem solve to collect 10 items needed back in camp.  Post challenge, children were encourage to consider their performance in relation to the YOU22 attributes and to reward another child for their effort.  Who were the leaders...who were the creatives...who were the motivators...who were the problem solvers?

Following this, children rotated round bomb shelters, snowman making and Seder plate creation (oh, and some finished planet representations from last half term).

Year 4 enjoy their morning at the Panto!

Today was the Year 4's turn to enjoy Dick Whittington at the Derby Velodrome!

The children enjoyed some shouting, singing and dancing whilst watching the performance and even an ice lolly treat!

Yet again, they made us proud with how well they conducted themselves in the arena.

And again - another massive thank you to the PTFA for allowing the children to have such a wonderful experience!
