Tadpoletastic! We had a wander to the pond yesterday and we were amazed at the number and size of the tadpoles there in...there are thousands and they are already the size of plump raisins!
All children started their session this week with a colour search...armed with colour-swatches and a marker pen, we scoured the site in search of colour...when we identified a colour, we marked it off on our swatch - the children were amazed at all the colours that surrounded them with many commenting that they hadn't noticed the variety before.
Following this, Lower School children found a letter from Flame, asking if we could build a play area for the new munchlings - many of the children rose to this challenge. While the playgrounds were being constructed, other children began the ground-work for an Egyptian pyramid (footings dug...ready to mix and pour concrete next week with Courage) or undertook some leaf and flower printing on fabric.
Upper School children continued with viking shields from last term or began work on our Iron Man project - here, the children have begun to deconstruct items such as lawn mowers, generators, washing machines, toasters etc...we are going to use the components from this to make a collage of an Iron Man and Iron Woman.
A few thanks - to Ady S for the bricks, sand, plywood, tools and small appliances, Caleb's mum and dad for the shield bosses, Sam C for the cement and to all other parents who have brought small appliances in...your generosity is much appreciated!
