This week in TB - WC 17/03/25

What a glorious week we have had in TB - warmth and sunshine every day!  We quickly popped over to the pond at the start of the session as a number of the children didn't know what frog spawn was and many of them had never touched it - they all know what it is now and have all touched it!

Lower School have started their sessions with either daffodil sketching or person-outline collaging - the collaging is linked to their art topic, and children were asked to collage their outlines in ways that they felt represented their interests and personalities.

Following this, children carouselled around their whale challenges.

Upper School have started their sessions by exploring a selection of Spring poetry - after reading the poems, we identified features and magpied ideas for our own poem, which we wrote sitting in the wood, listening to the birds and feeling the sun on our faces.

After writing, we propped our poems around the wood, and wandered round reading each-others.  Some children even had the confidence to read theirs to the whole group - there were some beauties!

Following this, children continued with shield making and memorial stone carving...again, huge thanks to Caleb's folks for the time and effort they have put into making and delivering the shield blanks.
