This week in TB - WC 23/09/24

Another wonderful week in TB...signs of Autumn are starting to appear: maple leaves turning red; water iris pods opening, spilling their seeds into the pond; squirrels frantically burying nuts; blackberries starting to turn mushy; temperature beginning to drop...

Lower school have undertaken various things this week:  Courage started with a game of Sneaky Squirrel and Discovery started with a bug hunt (this was to help Mr Stink who has discovered that mini-beasts are a deterrent to the goblins) - we found amazing things including: slugs, beetles, centipedes, wood-lice, millipedes, worms...the children thought they had found wriggling treasure!

Following this, groups carouselled around apple crumble making, Mr Stink shelter construction and shampoo brewing.

Upper School have started their sessions with a sketching challenge, linked to their artwork back in the classroom - they were given a faint outline of a view from the school field and they had to use different shading techniques to add 'value' and bring the image to life.

After this, following a hot chocky and a story, children undertook the apple-crumble challenge, bridge building and William Morris nature printing.  Additionally, we had a break-away group who took on a little challenge from our reading-for-pleasure- book 'Fantastic Mr Fox' - construct the underground street described at the end of the book.
