Yesterday, the children in year 6 formed political parties, wrote manifestoes and campaigned to be elected as the new governing party of the Kilburn Junior School constituency. They canvassed the electorate in a special assembly and the children of KJS appeared in droves at the polling station, ready to make their voice heard. There was a real buzz around the school!
This morning, the votes were counted and the children of Team Endurance have been crunching the numbers. As you can see, voter turnout was sky-high, especially in year 3! Overall, 79% of the school turned out to vote.
The results are in, and it was a landslide victory for the Relevant Party and their leader Callie who secured a whopping majority with their manifesto pledges of a guaranteed break during the afternoon and reforms to the Magic Breakfast that the school provides for the children.
Well done to the Relevant Party!
