So...the baby robins we had in the wood last week have fledged already, but the mum and dad are still hard at it, feeding them in the bushes...hopefully, we will get a final glimpse of the little ones before they fly off for good. We wonder if there will be another brood in the nest soon or whether the mum and dad robin will put their feet up for the summer.
All classes have started sessions this week with a photo trail - 26 close-up photos of things found in and around the wood...the children had to zip about, spotting the mystery subjects in the photos. To prove they had found these, they had to write a sentence to say where it was...we discussed the use of prepositional language and the need for capital letters and full stops.
After a hot chocky, bicci and story, Lower School children carried on with Tree Spirits, Ghanian-animal footprints, munchling playground and round-house construction. With the round house, the group today have tried adding straw to the clay to help stop it cracking when it dries - fingers crossed.
Upper School have continued with Maya swords...some in Equality have now finished them completely - they are incredible and look very intimidating! Others have had their turn at Maya cooking and have produced some incredible dishes!
