Upper School have finished their Munchkin Memorials this week...and what an incredible job they have done (thanks to parents who were able to send bits in).
Collaboration in teams was phenominal and the children were wonderfully independent, requiring only a minimum of adult support.
They've followed the full DT cycle with this project: researching and planning, designing, making and evaluating; I am sure that Munch will be delighted with what the children have produced.
Lower School children started their sessions with a woodland rope treasure trail...blindfolded, they had to follow a fixed rope and identify, by touch, 10 items they encountered along the way.
Each blindfoldee was accompanied by a non-blindfolded partner who was there for reassurance and support.
Post experience, the children reflected on how vulnerable they felt being unable to see, and how important the words of their partner were in helping them to succeed.
Following this, we had a music / drama group starring a robin and a duck (incredible Collaboration, Confidence and Creativity here), mallet makers and model pond constructors.
A final few explored the book 'One Snowy Day' and made clay models of hedge-hogs.
